ADI SHANKARACHARYA

ADI  SHANKARACHARYA

It is believed that he lived at least 1200 years ago. A divine saint who lived till the age of 32. In that time, he reformed & restored the glory of Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) based on Vedic principles throughout India. He established 4 monasteries or Mathas in north, south, east and west of India. From the age of 16 to 32 years Shankaracharya went forth, travelling across the length and breadth of India preaching the life-giving message of the Vedas. “Brahma Satyam Jagan Mithya, Jeevo Brahmaiva Na Para” meaning “Brahman, Pure Consciousness, is the Absolute Reality. The world is unreal. In essence the individual is not different from Brahman.” Thus, by this statement, he condensed the essence of the Vedic scriptures in the Advaita tradition.
